Udyam Registration Number Format Checker

Paste a Udyam Registration Number to check whether it follows the correct format, then confirm it on the official government portal. This tool checks format only — it does not check the government registry.

This tool only checks that a number follows the correct Udyam format — it does not connect to the government registry and cannot confirm whether a number is actually registered, active, or belongs to the business named.

About Udyam Registration

Udyam Registration is the Government of India's online registration for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), replacing the earlier Udyog Aadhaar system. A valid Udyam Registration Number follows the format UDYAM-[state code]-[district code]-[7-digit number], for example UDYAM-KL-02-0012345. Businesses use it to access MSME benefits such as collateral-free loans, priority-sector lending, and delayed-payment protection under the MSME Development Act, 2006.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool confirm a business is actually registered?

No. It only checks that the number follows the correct pattern. To confirm actual registration status, use the official Udyam portal linked above.

What if the format doesn't match?

Double-check for typos, especially the state code and the number of digits. If it still doesn't match, the number may be from the older Udyog Aadhaar system or may not be a valid Udyam number.
